Room to Breathe Hospital Garden for the TSA

Key plants in the garden
The garden uses a limited colour palette of green, white, and burgundy to create a calming, restorative space.
Ferns are central to the design, providing form, texture, and greenery. Varieties like Polystichum setiferum ‘Dahlem' and Asplenium scolopendrium thrive in part shade, offering year-round interest. These versatile plants are perfect for containers or smaller spaces.
Other key plants include Acer palmatum ‘Japanese Sunrise’ with lime green leaves in spring and Pittosporum tobira ‘Nanum', with glossy evergreen leaves and honey-scented white flowers. Hakonechloa macra softens container edges with its graceful, bamboo-like foliage.
Astrantia, Anemone ‘Wild Swan’ and Akebia quinata bring bursts of colour.
